Persontal Treatment
It is the cancer of large intestine (colon) which is the final part of the digestive tract.
Mostly diagnosed in adults above 60 years.
Other risk factors include family history of colorectal cancer, obesity, regular red meat intake, eating less fiber, inflammatory bowel disease.
Symptoms
- It includes change in bowel habits, pain in lower abdomen, blood in stool, unexpected weight loss, tiredness.
Diagnosis
- Testing involves stool examination for small amount of blood or via colonoscopy. CT scan can be done to stage the cancer.
- Screening is important in preventing the diagnosis of CRC in later stage.
Treatment
- Depending on the stage, CRC can be treated with radiotherapy, surgery, chemotherapy or a combination of therapies.
